Red Sox rout Indians, 14-2
It didn't take long for the Red Sox to take care of the Indians Wednesday as Boston rolled out a 7-spot to take a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning en route to an easy 14-2 victory.
The Red Sox banged out 20 hits, slugging 4 home runs by Dustin Pedroia, Carl Crawford, David Ortiz and Jarrod Saltalamacchia as Boston takes 2 of 3 from Cleveland.
Jon Lester won his seventh straight to run his record to 7-1 with 6 shutout innings, lowering his ERA to 3.36 while giving up just 3 hits and striking out 7.
Crawford, hitting in the 6-hole after the Red Sox sat JD Drew (leg) and Kevin Youkilis (hand) with injuries, went 4-4, scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.
Drew Sutton and Jacoby Ellsbury each had three hits for Boston, who moves on to Detroit for another day game on Thursday.
