Beckett scratched from Tuesday's start
Josh Beckett won't start Tuesday for the Red Sox. The team says he has "intestinal turmoil" and will be replaced by Alfredo Aceves against San Diego.

Surgery possible for Pedroia
Red Sox second baseman is heading back to Boston to have his right knee checked out and could have surgery, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.
If he does have surgery, Pedroia could be out a month. He injured the knee in the May 16th game against Baltimore while fielding a ground ball.
Pedroia will be checked out on Thursday and could have the surgery immediately after. He will not play in the Red Sox finale of their three game series with the Yankees.

Saltalamacchia gets tests on stomach
According to ESPN's Pedro Gomez, Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia is at a NY hospital getting tests done on his stomach. The Red Sox want to rule out anything but the flu for their catcher.
For Wednesday night's game in NY, the Red Sox will use Jason Veritek to catch knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. No decision yet has been made on whether to call up another catcher from Pawtucket.

Fun Day at Fenway: Sox blow 4-run 9th inning lead, get two ejected & still win!
Talk about your dramatics!
Jonathan Papelbon blows a 7-3 9th inning lead, thanks in part to a Dustin Pedroia error on a Coco Crisp potential game-ending double play ball, gets ejected (along with Jason Veritek) and JD Drew wins it with an RBI single in the 14th over the A's!
Just another normal Saturday afternoon at the Fens!
